Why does the gold price change every day?
Gold is priced worldwide in US dollars per troy ounce (31.1035 g) and moves all day with supply and demand. The biggest drivers are the strength of the dollar, interest rates, central-bank buying, and political or economic trouble that sends people to gold as a safe haven.
Its price in Moroccan dirhams depends on two things at once: the world price in dollars, and the exchange rate of the local currency. Gold can rise locally while the world price stands still, simply because the currency weakened.
How is the price per gram worked out for each karat?
Price of a gram of pure gold = dollar price per ounce ÷ 31.1035 × the exchange rate. Each karat is then priced by its fineness — how many parts in a thousand are pure gold:

What is the difference between 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K?
Karat is the share of pure gold in the piece: 24K is 999 parts per thousand, 22K is 916, 21K is 875 and 18K is 750. A gram of 21K holds about 0.875 g of pure gold, which is why it costs less than a gram of 24K.
