Gold shop software for the UAE

In the UAE, 5% VAT falls on the full value of the piece, with a special rule for sales between two registered dealers. ZahabFlow charges the 5% on every sale, and the special rule is already in the pricing engine.

Tax in the UAE: 5% on the full value

The UAE shape is "full value" at 5%: gold, making charge and stones, after any discount.

Between two VAT-registered dealers the reverse charge applies: the seller charges no VAT and the buyer accounts for it, against a written declaration from the buyer whose reference is printed on the invoice. This rule is in the UAE pack and in the pricing engine.

To be honest about it: issuing a reverse-charge invoice from the till is not available yet. Today every invoice is charged at 5%.

What to know before you start

  • Screens show weight in grams today. The engine converts the tola exactly, but entering and showing weights in tola on screen is not available yet.
  • Reverse charge between dealers: the rule is in the engine; issuing it from the till is not available yet.

What every shop gets

A till priced from the rate of the moment

Price is never stored on a piece. It is rebuilt at every sale from the gram rate, fineness, making charge and tax, then fixed on the invoice.

Stock in grams per karat

Weight is stored in nanograms and fineness as parts per thousand, so pure grams add up and reconcile with no rounding.

Trade-in and buying scrap

The customer pays part of the price in old gold on the sell screen itself, and every gram that comes in is recorded with its cost and source.

Workshop

The customer’s gold on the bench is weighed going out and coming back, and the loss is recorded per craftsman.

Selling without internet

The arithmetic runs on the device itself; the sale waits in a queue, is sent when the connection returns, and the server re-prices it.

Day close

Expected grams per fineness and expected cash, against what you counted, with the difference recorded and a note.

Arabic and English

Arabic first, right to left, with full English — one tap to switch.

Questions we are asked

Is VAT charged on the making charge only?

No. In the UAE, 5% is charged on the full value of the piece: gold, making charge and stones.

I sell to registered gold traders. Does it issue reverse-charge invoices?

The rule is in the pricing engine, but the till does not issue a reverse-charge invoice yet. If much of your trade is dealer-to-dealer, ask us before relying on it.

Can I work in tola?

The engine stores weight in nanograms, so a tola converts exactly with no rounding. Screens show grams for now.

Does it work in Arabic and English?

Yes — Arabic first, with full English, and you can switch between them at any time.
